Fiddle Basics Classes
These six weekly classes are sure to kick off or improve your playing! Meet with Ed and other students like yourself in a sociable online setting. Start each class with a few minutes of familiar (or soon-to-be-familiar) warmups, then proceed to a customized progression of techniques, with a few tunes to apply them to. Written, audio and video materials are available 24/7 during the session.
At any time before the 2d class, you can choose to register in full for access to learning materials.

Basics I: 6-7pm EST; Basics II: 7:30-8:30pm EST
Fiddle Basics I for Beginners – Start from square one with basics tailored to both bare-bones beginners and those wishing to “fill in gaps” in their learning. Focus is on good sound, control, timing, and ergonomics. You’ll learn several tunes to apply your skills to, each with manageable audio, and note patterns written in both numbers and notes. We’ll also introduce a few easy visual warmups that automatically help you read more fluently on the fiddle.
Fiddle Basics II for Non-Beginners – For those who already play the instrument, this class will focus on sound & bow control, fingering and note patterns, including several tunes.This class will address needs and requests of participants.
